Privacy Policy for Spireknight

Effective date: August 14, 2026 · Last updated: August 14, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Iron Skull Studios (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the mobile game Spireknight (the “Game”). We built the Game to be played with the least amount of personal information possible. Please read this policy carefully. By downloading or playing the Game, you agree to the practices described here.

Summary (the short version)

  • We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or password.
  • We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, or microphone/camera data.
  • We do not use third-party advertising networks or analytics/tracking SDKs.
  • Your game progress is stored on your device. A small amount of data is sent to our servers so that global leaderboards and timed weekend events can work.

1. Information we collect

We only collect what is needed to run the Game’s online features.

a) Anonymous device identifier. The first time you launch the Game, it generates a random identifier (a UUID) and stores it on your device. This identifier is not linked to your real-world identity. It lets our servers recognize your save for leaderboards and weekend events without an account.

b) Display name (optional). If you choose to appear on the global leaderboard, you may enter a display name. If you do not enter one, a default name (“Knight”) is used. Please do not enter personal information as your display name — it is publicly visible to other players.

c) Gameplay data. To power the leaderboard and live events, we may store gameplay values such as your best score / progress (for example, your highest floor or wave), and event participation and rewards associated with your anonymous identifier.

d) Technical data. Like any app that connects to the internet, when the Game communicates with our servers, our servers automatically receive standard technical information such as your device’s IP address, the request time, and basic device/OS information contained in the network request. This is used for security, to operate the service, and to prevent abuse. We do not use it to build advertising or marketing profiles.

2. What we do NOT collect

  • No real name, email, phone number, or account password.
  • No precise or background location.
  • No access to your contacts, photos, files, camera, or microphone.
  • No advertising identifiers, ad networks, or cross-app tracking.
  • No third-party analytics or behavioral tracking SDKs.

3. How we use information

We use the limited information above to:

  • Save and restore your game progress and rewards.
  • Operate global leaderboards and display rankings.
  • Run time-limited weekend events, daily login chests, and similar live features.
  • Maintain the security, integrity, and reliability of the Game and prevent cheating or abuse.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. How information is stored and shared

On your device. Most of your game state (level, gold, gear, settings) is stored locally on your device. If you delete the Game, this local data is removed.

On our servers / service providers. To provide online features, limited data (your anonymous identifier, display name if provided, and gameplay values) is transmitted to and stored by our game backend service and a managed database/hosting provider. These providers process data only to provide hosting and database services to us. We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

5. Children’s privacy

The Game is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because we only collect an anonymous identifier and an optional self-chosen display name, we do not knowingly collect personal data from children as defined by COPPA, the EU GDPR, or similar laws.

6. Data retention

We keep leaderboard and event data associated with your anonymous identifier for as long as needed to operate those features. You can request deletion of the server-side data associated with your identifier (see “Your choices and rights” below).

7. Your choices and rights

  • Leaderboard opt-out. You can avoid appearing on the public leaderboard by not submitting a score/display name.
  • Deletion. Deleting the Game removes local data. To request deletion of server-side data, contact us at the email below.
  • Regional rights. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Contact us at the email below.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited information we handle, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections between the Game and our servers.

9. International data transfers

Our servers and service providers may be located in countries other than your own. By using the Game, you understand that your information may be processed in those countries.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above.
